Speedo Nemesis Fins

A funky design taken from humpback whales

Speedo's new fins will help you swim faster. Really. (Photo: Speedo)

In a corner of the gear world that doesn’t see much innovation, Speedo’s Nemesis Fins are an exception.

The funky look was inspired by the anatomy of humpback whales, with the ridged outer edge, square holes, and channels on the top and bottom of the fin designed to maximize the amount of water displaced when you kick.

Constructed from an extremely buoyant EVA foam, the Nemesis are intended to force your body into a efficient swimming position. Result: you swim faster. Available early 2015.
