Julia Mancuso Shreds Waves, Too
I booked my ticket last minute and flew from Sydney to catch a big swell at Fiji's famous Cloudbreak. These large swells are common from April to October, but this particular system was the biggest we've seen in a couple years.
Paddle surfers caught waves most of the morning before getting tuckered out and retreating to the beach. Julia Mancuso showed up in the afternoon and joined a group of surfers who were towing into the waves. Mancuso was towed into four waves and made every single one of them. Needless to say, we were impressed by someone we're used to just seeing on snow.
