I'd been photographing this gap over a road near Mt. Baker, Washington, most of the morning before I captured this moment. KC Deane and Carston Oliver had been taking turns showing off their best stuff and walking back up the road for another run. When Deane threw this huge backflip over Oliver, I was finally able to show the scale of the jump. As is often the case, my best images are rarely planned.
