The colors of the aurora borealis, normally limited to far northern latitudes, were seen in Colorado Monday night, reports the Denver Post.

A severe geomagnetic storm on Monday night caused the aurora to be visible in Colorado and other unusual locations, including New England and Iowa.

The aurora forecast remains elevated. Check out the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center to find out if there’s a chance to see it where you live.
