Digital Campaign Coordinator

The Digital Campaign Coordinator is a crucial part of digital ad operations and will work with internal teams to implement paid media campaigns, managing them from launch to completion. Specifically, they will work with internal teams to manage asset collection, campaign launches, and overall campaign logistics.

Responsibilities:

Learn the basics of digital campaign/advertising activation and campaign performance.

  • Monitor campaign execution and ensure timely launch of custom editorial products, including but not limited to native and editorial sponsorships, by:
    • Coordinating with clients and the marketing team to collect digital assets
    • Managing digital master calendar for custom editorial products
    • Collecting and sending screenshots
    • Ensuring all products launch in a timely manner before the digital campaign is complete
  • Manage small scale digital campaigns
  • Support Campaign Management and Ad Operations team as necessary

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Able to manage own workflow while coordinating with internal teams on schedules, campaign requirements, goals, and assignments as needed
  • Strong customer service experience and the ability to foster relationships as necessary; flexible, patient, courteous, professional.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including organization, interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of change, and innovation.
  • High level of energy, with ability to cope with workload peaks, multitasking and meeting tight deadlines.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
  • Prior experience in Marketing, Advertising or Sales is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Google products (Analytics & Doubleclick) preferred

Notes:

  • This position is primarily sedentary and requires light physical work with some lifting or moving up to 15 lbs.  It requires frequent reaching to access supplies and reference materials, manual dexterity, and repetitive finger motions on a regular basis.
  • This job is located in the sales office of Outside Magazine in Boulder, Colorado. There is little contact with the editorial and photo staff.

Digital Sales Planner 

Outside is looking for a Digital Sales Planner to work closely with Outside’s Advertising Sales, Marketing, and Editorial teams on all elements of advertising campaign development.

Responsibilities:

  • Build client-facing proposals for Outside Online’s saleable properties
  • Work with Advertising Sales team to understand client strategic goals and develop digital solutions
  • Provide day-to-day support to Sales team by building media plans that both meet advertiser needs and maximize digital revenue
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, and Editorial teams to create custom programs to support proactive sales efforts.
  • Be an expert on all Outside Online properties to make recommendations on placements based on key categories and client needs.
  • Coordinate with Campaign Management team to implement campaign and track inventory

Requirements:

  • 2+ years in advertising strategic planning, digital media planning/buying and/or digital sales
  • Microsoft Office/Computer Skills'
  • Working knowledge of media math (CPM, CTR, CPCV, etc)
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ad serving technologies and online inventory management software
  • Must be able to analyze data and think critically
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Takes initiative and seeks increased responsibilities

Fellowships

Outside is accepting applications for a paid, six-month editorial fellowship at our offices in Santa Fe. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, and hires are typically made in early autumn and early spring.

As an editorial fellow, you'll work closely with top editors and reporters at an award-winning magazine, with duties including fact-checking, reporting, research, and proofreading. From time to time, fellows also have the opportunity to write for the magazine and website. 

An ideal candidate is passionate about the outdoors, knows the magazine well, and has some professional experience working at a newspaper, magazine, or website. A degree in journalism is a plus, but is not required.
