A Visual Tribute to a 1930's Environmental Poem

From filmmaker Tom Welsh, The Problem of the Wilderness is a film set to the poem of the same name written by environmental activist Bob Marshall. Marshall often wrote about the environment in Alaska, and when Welsh found a copy of the poem in his cabin, he knew he had to create a film. The writing resonated with him. "The purely aesthetic observer has, for the moment, forgotten his own soul," Marshall writes, "he has only one sensation left and that is exquisiteness."
