Don't get soaked this Spring
This week, we scanned Amazon's bestseller list for the highest-rated women's rain jackets, then pulled the best, most authoritative reviews for each.
Columbia Switchback II ($40)
"I purchased this and three other jackets in preparation for a trip I was going on where I knew there'd be some light to moderate rain. Since the weather was otherwise expected to be warm, I didn't want to pack a heavy rain jacket so I was in search of a light, packable, water-resistant shell preferably under $50. Of the four jackets I purchased, I wound up keeping this one. After having used it on my trip, I'm very happy with my choice."
Columbia Arcadia II ($60)
"The sleeves have adjustable velcro cuffs, and it goes past just the tip of my fingers. The mesh-lined jacket itself almost covers my entire butt, but my rain pants can take care of the rest. The storm hood and waist can be easily adjusted with the elastic cords found there."
Marmot Precip ($100)
"Amazing rain gear! I used this on my trip to Ireland and Scotland and despite the constant rain and hail, I stayed completely dry every day. This jacket was also wind resistant and washed well. It fit as expected (I purchased a women's large). Highly recommended."
The North Face Venture 2 ($100)
"I did a ton of research before I bought this jacket. The Blackberry color is gorgeous! The material is nice, not cheap feeling like some raincoats, and it does have a great mesh lining. I like it so much, I bought the men's version for my boyfriend, too!
Charles River New Englander ($50)
"This jacket is simply perfect! I live in Seattle and have been searching for a feminine rain jacket for quite some time. This was exactly what I was looking for. The material is soft, flexible and very comfortable. The color is exactly as pictured! I was worried about the fit but to my surprise, the XL fits perfect and I can comfortably wear a sweater underneath. So grateful to this company for making a wonderful product of good material and fashionable at the same time!"
