Kentucky Fried Chicken doesn't need a lot of help in China, but this is a story that sounds perfect for the company's next commercial there. After his graduation, 22-year-old Zhang Heng decided to bike more than 1,000 miles through Sichuan Province to the city of Lhasa in Tibet. On his journey, he came across a small, scruffy white dog that looked hungry, so he fed her a chicken drumstick.

She followed him. He named her Xiao Sa (“Little Sa”—Sa for the last part of Lhasa) and gave her water. She kept following him—for much of the remaining 1,000 miles, over 10 mountains with peaks higher than 12,000 feet, according to China Daily.

He made a microblog for her, put her in his bucket on steep downhills, and after he reached Lhasa, decided to take her to Everest and then home.

“She has been a stray on the road for a long time,” he told China Daily. “She needs a home.”
