It's usually difficult to sit through a long slideshow of images, especially one that goes on for more than 20 minutes. That's not so with photographer Maggie Steber's images of Haiti. The veteran photographer, who has worked in 62 countries, spent the last 25 years chronicling the Haitian people. In The Audacity of Beauty, she gives context to her pictures.

“I have great hope hope for Haiti, and that's what The Audacity of Beauty is about—is hope,” says Steber in the video. “And the ability of a people to describe themselves.”

In addition to the main slideshow, Steber also tells the stories behind her favorite photos. Below she talks about how she captured the picture “Dead Blue Man.”
