The Outside Adventure Film School Is Accepting Applicants
If backcountry exploration and filmmaking are two of your passions, then hurry up and send us your video
Do you dream of becoming a filmmaker? Think you belong on television? This January, the Outside Adventure Film School is teaming up with Outside Television to create a reality TV show in the Colorado backcountry.
Over a week’s time, you will shoot and edit your own short film as we hike four miles into the Colorado backcountry to untouched powder and stunning landscapes. Students will receive intensive, hands-on filmmaking instruction while snow-camping, skiing, and spending two nights in the famous Janet’s Cabin.
A television crew will be on location throughout the week, documenting the experience of filmmaking, backcountry activities, and you. We are looking for interesting personalities who are comfortable in front of a camera and aspire to tell great stories through film. This is a tuition-based program that will cost $2,595 for those who take part.
If this sounds like something for you, then you should create a two-to-five-minute video of yourself and send it our way. No need for editing or high production value, we just want to see you. Clips filmed on smartphones are perfectly acceptable; we only ask that you include the following:
- Pitch the story you’d like to film.
- What is your filmmaking background?
- What kind of winter-sports experience do you have? Especially pertaining to skiing/snowboarding and backcountry exploration?
- Why do you want to be part of this experience?
- What are your inspirations as an aspiring filmmaker?
Submission videos should be sent to email@example.com with the subject line “AFS Submission Video.” All videos must be received no later than Sunday, November 25, 2012.
