Want to Train Smarter and Run Faster?
We’ve partnered with WHOOP and Tracksmith to create a first-of-its-kind running recovery program—and we want you to join.
The experimental portion of this program (training with the WHOOP Strap 3.0) has been filled. However, we are still in need of participants to join our Control Groups, which will provide you with a FREE 5k program designed by professional athletes and Tracksmith running experts, Nick Willis and Mary Cain. Read below to see how you can join!
Here’s how it works.
Participants will opt into an eight-week 5k training program—starting in the beginning of October—designed by professional runners Nick Willis and Mary Cain of Tracksmith. Participants using the WHOOP fitness tracker will train with 24/7 personalized insights on recovery, strain, and sleep. Control Groups will follow the same specialized 5k training program without WHOOP. Over the course of the 5k program, everyone will have access to a private Facebook group for ongoing feedback and coaching advice from Tracksmith, Outside, and WHOOP. You’ll also get a 1-year digital subscription to Outside Magazine and discounts on apparel from Tracksmith. At the conclusion of the study, you’ll have exclusive access to the study’s results and insights, allowing you to make better decisions about your training moving forward. Sound cool? Interested in challenging yourself to a new 5k PR? Sign up below for our Control Group and we’ll be in touch with next steps.
With Project PR, you’ll have the chance to be part of a first-of-its-kind running experiment and train virtually with thousands of people from all athletic backgrounds. Together, we can uncover ways to train smarter based on actionable recovery data provided by WHOOP.
What is WHOOP?
WHOOP is a 24/7 wrist-worn heart rate monitor used by some of the best athletes in the world. It is lightweight, low-profile, 100% waterproof, and has a 5-day battery life.
What’s included in the training program?
In addition to the free eight-week 5k program designed by Tracksmith, you’ll get a 1-year digital subscription to Outside Magazine, discounts on apparel from Tracksmith, online community groups for support and training advice, and additional incentives for completing the program.
