In 2020, Outside is tracking every cyclist who was killed by a driver. As the end of the year nears, the death toll is at 675—despite less car traffic due to the pandemic. But the victims are more than just statistics. They were mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends, husbands, wives, coworkers. They were riding for fitness, for fun, for transportation. They were loved, and they are missed.Â
