The stud sport climber dropped everything, picked up her first ice axe, and is on the roster to compete at the nation's top ice climbing festival.
Jacob Wells sends ice flying as he scales a frozen cliff in Ouray, Colorado, at the 19th annual Ouray Ice Festival on January 12. The festival draws thousands of climbers from across the U.S. and the world to this little mountain town. The nearby gorge features 200 ice routes artificially "farmed" by a piping system that sprays water daily onto the sheer walls to simulate the frozen waterfalls.
