Contour, the point-of-view camera maker that has been one of GoPro’s main competitors, has reportedly closed up shop. In a Facebook post, Jacob Hase, the company’s former social media manager, said that employees came into work at the company’s Seattle headquarters on Friday only to be told that they no longer worked for Contour. “No one really knows what happened,” he wrote.
While it’s not clear what happened, Matt Taylor of Contour’s UK retailer Action Cameras told Singletrack that Contour had ceased trading, but pointed out that the stoppage could be a temporary measure while the brand looks for a new buyer.
