Dalai Lama Warned of Poison Plot

Buddhist leader suspects Tibetan agents


On Sunday, the Dalai Lama revealed that he believes the Chinese government is training female Tibetan agents to assassinate him. The Buddhist spiritual leader told the Sunday Telegraph that he has received reports from inside Tibet warning that assassins may try to deliver poison while seeking blessings. “Oh yes. In the hair poisoned and scarf poisoned. So they say they’re sick, supposed to seek blessing from me. And my hand touch. That kind of information we received,” he said. He added that while it would be impossible to confirm the reports, they had reinforced his need for security. At a press briefing, a Chinese spokesman refuted the report and accused the Dalai Lama of international anti-China separatist activities.
