Tomorrow, November 30, is the last day of the 2011 Atlantic hurricane season. To mark the occasion, NOAA released a video that condenses the entire six-month, seven-hurricane season into a 4 minute and 42 second video.

A few notes on the season. Atlantic hurricanes caused $11 billion in damage and led to 120 fatalities. Hurricane Irene carved the largest path of destruction. It led to 55 deaths and caused more than $10 billion in damage. While Irene drew some exagerrated press, the numbers and video show a storm that needed to be taken seriously.

Irene pops up just to the east of the Lesser Antilles at 2:06 in the video. It rolls along the Greater Antilles and then up along Florida before heading up the East Coast.
