Think you live in a clean country? Think again. Yale, in conjunction with Columbia, recently released their annual EPI (Environmental Performance Index). The U.S. dropped 22 spots in just one year (now ranked at 61, compared to 39 last year) and takes the low ranks with the likes of China (at 121) and India (at 123). Multiple factors are considered in the process of ranking, some of which include water quality, climate and air pollution, and environmental burden of disease. Want to know who made the cut to the top ten? Cuba, whom we wrote about in 2008, takes the cake with slot number nine, while Iceland is leading the world with a green baton at number one.
