Forest Service Approves Breckenridge Expansion

The U.S. Forest Service gave the OK for Vail Resorts to build new mountain bike trails, zip lines, canopy tours, and a rock-climbing wall at Breckenridge Ski Resort, Adventure Journal reported on Tuesday. Breckenridge is one of 11 Vail-owned resorts.
“I believe this suite of approved projects will provide a blend of activities that provide a broad range of experiences for an increasingly diverse recreating public,” White River National Forest Supervisor Scott Fitzwilliams wrote in the Forest Service’s record of decision. “This critical mass and mix of activities is fundamental to the success of this program.”
Vail expects the expansions to draw as many as 150,000 additional visitors per year to Breckenridge during the warmer months, according to Adventure Journal.
