New Jersey’s ski helmet law, which requires all underage skiers and snowboarders in the state to wear helmets, will likely go into effect this weekend when the state’s ski mountains open for the season. New Jersey became the nation’s first state to impose the restriction when the bill passed in April. Lawmakers in New York and Massachusetts have considered similar rules. Parents of non-complying kids face fines of up to $100.
