Police in Ohio have shot and killed dozens of large, carnivorous animals, including lions, tigers, and grizzly bears after the owner of an exotic animal farm set the animals free and then killed himself on Wednesday. Police found Terry Thompson dead of a self-inflicted gunshot after receiveing multiple reports of animals on the loose. Thompson’s zoo included lions, cheetahs, tigers, wolves, giraffes, camels and grizzly bears. “It’s like Noah’s arc wrecking right here in Zanesville, Ohio,” said Jack Hanna, Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo. Residents were warned to stay in their homes Thursday as police attempted to corral the remaining escapees, which include a mountain lion and a grizzly bear.
