A rash of rhino-horn thefts continued Tuesday when thieves used stun gas to overpower guards at the Museum of Hunting and Nature in Paris. Two men sprayed guards with the gas and made off with the horn from a stuffed rhino. Around 30 such thefts have been reported so far this year. A single pound of powdered rhino horn can fetch as much as $45,000 in China, where it is believed to be an aphrodisiac. Rhinos have seen increased poaching in the wild, and the pressure to import horns has risen as well.
