A German yachstman who disappeared on the Polynesian island of Nuku Hiva may have been eaten by a cannibal, authorities say. Stefan Ramin, 40, disappeared while goat hunting with a local guide, Henri Haiti. Haiti later returned alone, and, after telling Ramin’s girlfriend Heike Dorsch that Ramin had had an “accident,” tied her to a tree and sexually assaulted her before fleeing. After a week of searching, police found burned human remains in a campfire in the jungle on Saturday, including teeth they believe are Ramin’s. Military officials and police are now searching for Haiti.
