Alpine Meadows Ski Resort at Lake Tahoe announced the second annual Take the Lake Triple Air Open ski and snowboard jump competition, which takes place March 18 through March 20, TransWorld Snowboarding reports.
Competitors will show off their big-air moves on a triple jumpline judged by some of the most celebrated pro judges, including Dew Tour and Winter X Games veteran judges Shawn Carney and Tom Zikas and former Winter X Games skiers Evan Raps and Mike LaRoche. In addition to jumpline glory, both ski and snowboard division winners will score a $15,000 purse.
Last year's winners set the bar high, says park designer Jonahs David. Danny Toumarkine snagged gold in the snowboard division with a Back 9, Switch Back 9, and a Front 10; Matt Nelson scored big with a Rodeo 5 Liu Kang, Switch 7, and Switch Dub Ro 9 for a ski division gold.
The competition is open to all men (sorry, ladies) with no age divisions. Competitors can enter at SkiAlpine.com with a $100 entry fee, including lift ticket.
