Adventurer of the Year Diana Nyad will once again take to the water this weekend in Palm Springs, swimming 24 hours straight in preparation for an upcoming 48-hour charity event for Hurricane Sandy victims. And if you happen to be in the area, you can jump in the lane next to her at the Palm Springs Swim Center to share a few laps.
The first and last hours of the swim will be dedicated to the victims of Monday’s Boston Marathon explosions.
Her 48-hour swim will take place in the middle of Times Square at the end of May. The public will also have the opportunity to join her there, in a pool currently being custom-made in Italy.
