Tom Shields won the 100-meter butterfly at the Arena Pro Swim Series on Friday in Charlotte, North Carolina, beating Olympic gold medalists Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte.
“I always try to give this group of guys some respect,” Shields told USA Today. “I knew it was going to take a pretty good swim to win. The key was being on my game today.”*
