A miracle took place this week at the San Antonio Zoo. Staffers welcomed four new turtles, Texas river cooters to be exact, into the world, one of which was blessed with two separate, fully functional heads.
According to zoo spokeswoman Debbie Rios-Vanskike, the female turtle, thoughtfully dubbed Thelma and Louise, is completely mobile, healthy, and is expected to live a full and rich life at the facility.

This writer will be making a pilgrimage to San Antonio next week to pay homage to the marvelous creature.
