Students Survive Tsunami by Surfing
Two students who were visiting Samoa when the tsunami hit claim that they survived by surfing it. The Daily Mail writes that Tom Gogola, a student on holiday from Britain, was surfing when the tsunami hit, and survived by paddling toward the wave and over it. Chris Nel, from New Zealand, was surfing with friends on an island in Western Samoa when the waves rolled in. The article claims that he rode out the tsunami for an hour and a half, trying to stay alive and in control.
