Wiggins Captures Narrow Paris-Nice Win

Great Britain’s Bradley Wiggins on Sunday sealed an overall victory at the Paris-Nice stage race with an eight-second time-trial win over Dutch rider Lieuwe Westra. Wiggins, a 2004 and 2008 Olympic gold medalist on the track, is only the second British rider to win Paris-Nice. He will now turn his attention to July’s Tour de France, where he hopes to challenge defending champion Cadel Evans of Australia. “It’s more realistic that I can win the Tour now,” he wrote on Monday. “If I’m capable of winning [Paris-Nice], I’m capable of winning the Tour de France.”
