Downhill mountain bikers, moto riders,
extreme skateboarders and anyone else who is likely to have a rib-crushing
crash: take a look at this. POC’s new low-profile VPD 2.0 Jacket is a non-restrictive compression
shirtthat will protect your back as well as your ribs, chest, shoulders and elbows
if (read: when) you take a digger.

The VPD 2.0 Jacket is less bulky than
other alternatives on the market, which typically have hard plastic “pads” to take the hit
when you land on a rock. It’s also more protective than POC’s first iteration
of this layer.

POC’s soft and flexible VPD 2.0 compound is ultra dampening. It
absorbs shock, much like d30 or G-Form. It’s non-restrictive—flexible and soft
to the touch, but hardens on impact. For maximum spine protection, the back pad
has a puncture-proof
polymer sheet. That and all other pads are perforated and Polygiene (anti-odor) treated—it breathes so you
won’t soak your protector with sweat. And if you’re sweating anyway because you’re
nervous about your next sick gap jump, your shirt won’t stink. Certified to the highest motorcycle safety
standards. Available now, $300;
