The City of New York should be subsidizing this radical new theft deterrent. The TiGr bike lock is a U-shaped ribbon of titanium that’s burlier than a steel U-lock, but at 1.5 pounds weights much less. Long and thin, the TiGr bows around light posts and parking meters and secures via a pick-resistant cylinder lock.
QUIRKS + CONCERNS: It’s designed to slide over a bike’s top tube for transport but fits only certain frames.
