The second tent by pole maker Easton, the two-man, single-wall Si2 features the company’s proprietary carbon poles, which it claims are stronger than any aluminum pole on the market. We couldn’t verify that in the field, but thanks to a plastic bumper on each pole—where it crosses atop the tent—they certainly made the Si2 one of the sturdiest freestanding tents we tested this year. As a single-wall, it sets up fast and dry, and the vestibules, which are held on by Velcro tabs, are removable for additional weight savings. The only bummer: As with nearly every single-wall tent we’ve tested, we experienced significant condensation some nights. 4 lbs; eastonmountainproduct.com
