Beach style meets winter après
Vans hasn't been known as a cold-weather brand. Until now. Its new Sk8-Hi MTE LX, which it developed in collaboration with The North Face, keeps the skate company's iconic styling but relies on TNF’s engineers for tech features that will keep you safe and warm as the snow starts to fly.
Take the proprietary rubber outsole, for example, which stays soft and sticky even as temps drop. Or the aggressive lugs that provide extra traction and the insulated lining on the bottom of the shoe that keeps the cold out. These kicks are also water resistant, thanks to the Scotchgarded upper.
“Vans is known for being such a summer, West Coast shoe,” says Chris Duran of Vans marketing. “We really wanted to bring the Sk8-Hi’s appeal to all-year wear, regardless of environment.”
Several editors around Outside wear these shoes on a daily basis. If you want a pair, the only way to get them is to visit one of the select retailers carrying them—no online sales.
