The Gear Junkie already gave you a peek at some of the new products debuting on the showroom floor during day one of the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market. I've noticed two trends from gear makers—hybrid jackets (i.e. a hard shell lined with a compressible down jacket for skiing the resort) and organic denim jeans for women from mountain companies like Lole and Patagonia. Score! Patagonia's designer-like denim is a mere $79 (double-score!). Shall we check out some more?

Remember Patagonia's Nano Puff pullover? It was an addition to their line last year and boasted more warmth with less, well, puff. It delivered on its promises and next winter you'll be seeing it as a…
…full zip:

And, even better, a hoody:

And even a scarf!

Last show, Ruff Wear released a dog fleece cozy enough for even the most spoiled pup. Wait, isn't any dog wearing a fleece spoiled? Anyway. Next spring, they're releasing waterproof, stinkproof collars that are light as a feather. If your dog is a beach or river lover, check the Headwater Collar ($25). And to go along with that collar? A floating frisbee called the Hydroplane Floating Dog Toy ($20).

SmartWool. At every show, they

manage to have one piece for around town that just knocks it out of the water. This time around it's the merino wool track-style Ponte Jacket for women (at a pricey $230). The knit wool does offer a very high warmth-to-weight ratio however.

What will we see tomorrow? I'll be checking in with companies like Prana, Teva, Smith, The North Face and many more. Stay tuned…
