Wearing a pared-down trail shoe like the Rogue means being aware of your form and where you put your feet. It has a surprisingly tough rock-blocking plate in the midsole and a modest toe bumper, but that’s about the extent of its armor. Thankfully, the shoe is low to the ground, offering great trail feel. Minimalist-footwear lovers will swear by it, while casual trail runners will want more cushioning. Note: the tightly placed lugs perform great on firm trails but don’t have big bite on loose terrain. BEST FOR: Nimble-footed chargers with good biomechanics. 8.8 oz
