“My initial response after trying these on was ‘Wanna race?’ ” one tester said of the aptly named Streak. With a flyweight construction, socklike fit, and soft yet energetic midsole, it’s basically a racing flat with just enough guts for daily training. The relatively generous heel cushioning and a decoupled crash pad mean the Streak is designed for longer races, but testers still raved about its ability to blaze a 5K or on-your-toes tempo run. The narrow, clean interior and airy, seamless upper nix chafing. With only one density of foam in the midsole, though, all but supinators and neutral runners will find a lack of medial support. 8.5 oz; pearlizumi.com
