No, the price isn’t a typo. As an experiment, Burton gave its designers a blank slate and an open-ended budget. And while we were fully prepared to ding it on cost, the Method performed too well to ignore. Thanks to a blend of radical design (thinner core between your feet and minimized sidewalls) and high-end ingredients (aluminum honeycomb core, carbon-composite glass, and titanium-alloy edges), this unbelievably light directional twin can handle groomers and powder as well as much heavier boards. “It felt like I was hover-boarding,” one tester remarked. Burton promises that the high-dollar technology used here will soon trickle down into more reasonably priced boards. 155, 158, 162; burton.com
