Patagonia’s track-inspired Kernelius Jacket ($150; patagonia.com) is actually a technical fleece midlayer. With a powder skirt, a fleecy lining, and a DWR coating, Patagonia’s Pipe Down Jacket ($300) is perfect for cold-weather skiing. As are Oakley’s insulated Arrestino Pants ($250; oakley.com). Gordini’s windproof Warrior Gloves ($90; gordini.com) were some of the best of the year.

I/O Bio’s merino-wool Contact Long Sleeve Zip Base Layer ($70; io-bio.com) is remarkably soft. Quiksilver’s Husqie Button-Down looks like a flannel shirt, but it’s cut from water-repellent polyester ($80; quiksilver.com).
