A company founded by Swedish outdoorsman Erik Thulin, originally to make fishing gear. It rose to prominence in the 1960s after producing equipment that enabled people to carry gear atop their vehicles. While that transition began with the first ski rack, in 1962, Thule now makes cargo boxes, hitch-mounted bike carriers, and even technical backpacks.
