Hazel Findlay and Impact Day—the difficult E8/6c trad route in England’s Pavey Ark—have a tough history. On an attempted climb in 2012, Findlay whipped from the route’s crux and took a fall that could have killed her. While she walked away with only minor injuries, the experience weighed mentally and emotionally on her. In the years since, she’s worked on studying mind control and confronting her fears while on the rock.

In a new film from Black Diamond, Findlay and Impact Day meet again for round two.
