Braveheart Runners, based in Iten, Kenya, is a foundation that provides local runners with coaching and financial support. The goal: to help the runners achieve their dreams of competing at some of Europe’s biggest races, including the Matterhorn Ultraks in Zermatt, Switzerland, later this summer.

In the first episode of Where Trail Meets Road, a series from filmmaker Simon Dugué about the Scott Sports–supported foundation, we meet the team’s athletes, with a focus on the captain, Benard “Chebasa” Koch, and how he discovered his passion for running.
