It's not uncommon for athletes to access remote ski routes by way of helicopters and snowmobiles, leaving an ecological footprint in their wake. In March 2014, an all-women expedition team set out to buck that trend by using wind and human power to accomplish their mission—ski first descents along the western coast of Greenland. In this exclusive clip from the resulting documentary Shifting Ice + Changing Tides (named after the expedition) the team discusses navigating sea ice to reach their destination. You can watch the full documentary from Kt Miller here, starting on April 22.
