It’s fair to say that the city of Miami is better known for its nightlife and cuisine than its outdoor activities. But fisherman David Gauzens, who only has eyes for the waters off its coast, sees things differently. He paddles his kayak six miles out in search of the next catch as well as to enjoy the solace that comes from being in nature. Flotsam, directed by Kjell Redal, produced by Old Post Productions, and featuring music from The Movement Vibe, shares Gauzens’s story. The film also features videography from underwater director of photography Josh Liberman, who at times dove down 40 feet with scuba gear to get shots of the water’s surface.
