Last year, women from 19 states and five countries descended on California and Nevada to participate in an off-road navigation race known as the Rebelle Rally. Two-person teams traded in their cell phones for traditional navigation tools, then attempted to travel more than 1,200 miles across the desert. The third-annual event takes place October 11-20.
