Flowing along the southern border of the rugged Kalmiopsis Wilderness, the North Fork of the Smith River is one of the most beautiful stretches of river in the U.S.—and one of the most endangered. Proposed nickel mining in the headwaters of the Smith River threatens its status as a world-class steelhead river and a source of safe drinking water. This short film from photographer Nate Wilson is the story of “Bearfoot” Brad Camden's life along the river and his efforts to preserve it for future generations. You can follow Wilson's work on Facebook and Instagram.
