As a tributary to the Klamath River, Blue Creek is a cold-water lifeline for some of the greatest salmon and steelhead runs remaining on the West Coast. To protect this, Western Rivers Conservancy has partnered with the local Yurok people to purchase 47,000 acres of the surrounding California redwood forest, effectively creating a sanctuary for fish and other wildlife in the Klamath-Siskiyou ecoregion. In Save Blue Creek, this video from Instrument, people share why this project is important. You can follow the WRC on Facebook here and on Instagram here.
