‘Step by Step’ Captures the Mindset of a Game-Changing Athlete

An athlete and adventurer wants to summit the world’s highest peaks while advocating for inclusivity in the world of outdoor recreation

Mountaineer and adventurer Andrew Alexander King is training to become the first Black American athlete to summit all 14 of the world’s eight-thousanders, the term for peaks that are at least 8,000 meters above sea level. But King also has a different, equally ambitious goal: through his work as a brand ambassador for big names in the outdoor industry and his personal racial justice efforts with the Between Worlds Project, he wants to make the outdoor recreation world more diverse and inclusive. In Step by Step, a short film from Black Diamond, King describes his journey in his own words.

Stream Step by Step on Outside TV+ and the free Outside TV app, available on Dish, RedBox, the Roku Channel, Samsung TVPlus, Sling, Stirr, Xumo, and Vizio WatchFree.
