Jackson Hole Resort is billed as the hardest inbounds skiing in the United States, and the après-ski scene can get just as rowdy as Corbets Couloir. Take the entire Jackson Hole Valley, from Teton Village at the base of the resort to the town of Jackson 12 miles south, and you’ve got choices ranging from crusty saloons to late-night dance parties to white-tablecloth joints.
With Your Boots Still On: Mangy Moose
This classic bar in Teton Village feels like your slightly drunk, vagabond uncle decided to decorate the barn. It’s cavernous and eclectic and a Jackson Hole institution. Pay your respects by ordering a spicy margarita.
Cheap Eats: Bodega
This burrito/sandwich shop recently took over an old gas station in Teton Village, offering tasty grab-and-go options from wild boar salami sandwiches to chorizo burritos, all of which are under $8. Go ahead and add a “sloshy,” a vodka-based grapefruit frozen drink.
Best Restaurant In Town: Couloir
Perched 9,095 feet above sea level with view of the entire valley and offering a prix fixe menu that runs a Benjamin per person (without wine), Couloir is a little formal, but the food is as good as it gets. If that sounds too stuffy, the same chef is opening a new, more family-style restaurant called Piste this winter.
Up All Night: Pink Garter Theatre
The Pink Garter is actually a trifecta of bars in downtown Jackson. Start at the Rose, an upscale cocktail lounge that offers twists on classics, like the Winter Old Fashioned (rum and sarsaparilla? sure!), to get lubricated before dancing inside the Pink Garter Theatre (Wednesday is vinyl night). Finish downstairs at Pinky G’s, which has a full bar (and a shot ski) and the best pizza in town until 2 a.m.
