Bike commuters are no longer an anomaly, and their right to the road is becoming a hot topic, as reported by cnn.com. Bikes sales continue to increase, Google maps recently added bike routes, and many cities are reconfiguring car-only roads to accommodate the needs of cyclists–yet cyclists still report harassment and unease on the road. A reported $730 million federal stimulus dollars has been allocated to bike and pedestrian projects, leaving some frustrated that money needed to increase the economy is going to bike lanes instead. The debate is economical, political and environmental. So who is in the right?
