We followed a famous wolfpack in Yellowstone for our fourth official Outside Beyond Books Club pick, American Wolf: A True Story of Survival and Obsession in the West by Nate Blakeslee. The book tells the story of the alpha female, O-Six, who became a favorite of wolf watchers and conservationists. In our Facebook group, we’ve been chatting with you about Blakelee’s up-close-and-personal writing style and how much human meddling in nature is okay.
Last week, Outside features editor Elizabeth Hightower Allen sat down with Blakeslee to talk about wolf watching in Yellowstone, predator ecology, and writing about canine drama.
