A recent study suggests that elephants are capable of vocalizing warnings to one another, as reported by newscientist.com. Upon observing reactions elephants have around bees, scientists have been able to determine that the mammals have a vocal warning system for specific threats. Though bees may seem a surprising threat, they are harmful enough for elephants to note as a possible danger. This finding not only opens up the door to understanding these complex mammals, but provides people with a witty tactic for defusing potential conflicts between elephants and humans.
